Job summary
Allentown School District seeks an instructional paraprofessional to support students with disabilities under a certificated staff member's direction. Qualifications
- Must meet educational requirements for 'highly qualified paraprofessional'.
- Valid tuberculosis test and physical examination with ADA accommodations.
- Must continue to meet annual staff development obligations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in delivering appropriate instructional strategies as per IEP.
- Collect observational and academic data for progress monitoring.
- Handle students' personal needs for providing care.
Skills
Reading, writing, and math competencies
Valid clearances (Act 34, 114, Act 151)
Ability to assist in maintaining a safe school environment
Experience with special education students
Education
At least 2 years of postsecondary study
Associate degree or higher
