Job summary

Discovery Regional HS is seeking an ESOL Teacher to deliver ESOL coursework across its Georgia campuses, including Ben Hill, Lanier, Pelham, Tift, and Valdosta. Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a related field with a valid Georgia teaching certificate and ESOL certification.

Strong communication with students and families is essential; this is a part-time role paying $40 per hour, with references required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in education or related field with a valid Georgia teaching certificate.
  • ESOL Certified.
  • Highly qualified to teach assigned class per Georgia standards.
  • Ability to relate well to students, parents, and co-workers. Access to a personal computer and reliable internet.

Responsibilities

  • Teach one or more subjects in the school and within the goals established by the school system; plan and implement objectives for each assigned course.
  • Participate in professional learning; apply skills to raise student achievement.
  • Instruct students using lectures, demonstrations, technology, and other materials.
  • Promote student engagement by assessing abilities related to goals and outcomes.
  • Support students with encouragement and use time effectively.
  • Manage learner behavior to maintain a conducive learning environment.
  • Collaborate in teams to review assessment data and modify instruction.
  • Maintain up-to-date student grade and attendance records.
