Description

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements, with written evidence of preparation.
• Prepare lessons accommodating different student learning styles.
• Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, Board of Trustee policies, and administrative regulations.
• Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior.
• Implement a student evaluation system within legal and district guidelines.
• Evaluate and record students’ progress, reporting to parents as needed.
• Teach the prescribed curriculum for the grade level and subject area.
• Plan lessons aligned with subject objectives, including substitute plans.
• Use diverse media and methods to motivate students and optimize instruction time.
• Identify student needs and collaborate with staff to support health, attitude, and learning issues.
• Be available for counseling students and parents before and after school.
• Communicate educational programs to the community via open house and PTA meetings.
• Coordinate work with aides, paraprofessionals, and student teachers when applicable.
• Participate with the principal in developing evaluation systems per district guidelines.
• Maintain accurate student records and complete required reports and documents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance at the worksite.

Work Environment

The noise level is usually moderate. Travel across the district is expected. Remote work is not permitted for campus-based employees, as attendance and presence on-site are essential.

Qualifications
