Description
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements, with written evidence of preparation.
- Prepare lessons accommodating different student learning styles.
- Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, Board of Trustee policies, and administrative regulations.
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior.
- Implement a student evaluation system within legal and district guidelines.
- Evaluate and record students’ progress, reporting to parents as needed.
- Teach the prescribed curriculum for the grade level and subject area.
- Plan lessons aligned with subject objectives, including substitute plans.
- Use diverse media and methods to motivate students and optimize instruction time.
- Identify student needs and collaborate with staff to support health, attitude, and learning issues.
- Be available for counseling students and parents before and after school.
- Communicate educational programs to the community via open house and PTA meetings.
- Coordinate work with aides, paraprofessionals, and student teachers when applicable.
- Participate with the principal in developing evaluation systems per district guidelines.
- Maintain accurate student records and complete required reports and documents.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance at the worksite.
Work Environment
The noise level is usually moderate. Travel across the district is expected. Remote work is not permitted for campus-based employees, as attendance and presence on-site are essential.
Qualifications
The following qualifications are required:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university; valid Texas teacher certificate with appropriate endorsements.
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
- Ability to follow procedures and instructions with minimal supervision.
- Ability to present subject matter per state and district guidelines.
- Effective classroom management skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing environments.
- Willingness to stay current with professional developments.
