Job summary

Fall River Public School District in Massachusetts is seeking an English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher to deliver high-quality instruction and accelerate English language learning for multilingual students. You will expose students to content vocabulary and guide them toward proficiency in English.

In this role you will apply WIDA and Common Core Standards, differentiate instruction, evaluate progress, and communicate with families.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid Massachusetts Teaching License in ESL.
• Bachelor's degree in teaching ESL or a related field.
• Demonstrated expertise teaching English Language Learners per MA DESE guidance.
• Experience developing ESL/ELL curricula.

Responsibilities

• Educates linguistically diverse students.
• Teaches ESL using the curriculum adopted by the School Committee and MA DESE.
• Differentiates instruction to meet individual student needs.
• Applies knowledge of WIDA and Common Core Standards.
• Evaluates progress in listening, speaking, reading and writing in English.
• Communicates with parents through conferences and other means.
• Maintains classroom behavior standards for an orderly environment.
• Participates in professional development for ELLs.
• Assumes other duties per the Fall River Educators' Association contract.
