Job summary

nLeague in Knoxville, TN seeks an ESL Teacher to support two deaf and hard-of-hearing students. The role requires ASL signing and creating accessible lessons tailored to diverse language backgrounds.

You will develop ILPs, adapt materials, and guide students toward English proficiency in a hybrid classroom schedule from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. A Bachelor's degree and Tennessee ESL license are required. This is a 3+ month assignment.

Qualifications

• ASL proficiency required to sign during lessons.
• Experience developing ILPs and individualized lesson plans for deaf/hard-of-hearing students.
• Valid Tennessee ESL endorsement and teaching license required.

Responsibilities

• Develop ILPs and individualized lesson plans for two students.
• Adapt materials to support English language acquisition for Deaf students.
• Deliver lessons in a hybrid setting from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and adjust for enrollment.

• The teacher develops individual learning plans (ILP), individualized lesson plans, adapts materials, and employs strategies to ensure that all students can participate fully in lessons and activities. The number of students can change depending on enrollment.
• The educator needs to have a background in American Sign Language usage and be able to sign.
