Job summary

Garlough Environmental Magnet School seeks an Instructional ESL Paraprofessional to support English learners in the 2026-27 school year. The role involves assisting with assignments, facilitating small groups, and helping students exploring career and college pathways.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Position:Instructional ESL Paraprofessional

Location: Garlough Environmental Magnet School
Dates: 2026-27 School Year
Hours: 3 hours per day
Salary Range: $23.86 – $26.03 per hour based on the 2025-2027 salary schedules for district paraprofessionals.

Required Qualifications:

• Associates or Bachelor's degree (preferably in a related field)
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships
• Demonstrated ability to work with high school students who speak a language other than English

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively cross-culturally

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience working in a secondary educational environment
• Proficiency in English and Spanish
• Prior experience as an educational paraprofessional
• Ability to show initiative and function as a self-starter
• Ability to maintain confidential information
• Experience working with immigrant and refugee students
