Job summary

International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking an English Language Training (ELT) Instructor to provide integrated English instruction to non-native speakers. The role includes tailoring curricula, recruiting and tracking attendance, and supporting client employability goals.

You will work with an Adult Education Coordinator to ensure accurate documentation, assess progress, and deliver both in-person and online classes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, social services, or related field.
• English language instruction certification required.
• 2+ years ESL teaching experience preferred.
• Experience with immigrant populations and adults preferred.
• TESOL certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver integrated ELT instruction to non-native speakers.
• Conduct client assessments and pre/post tests.
• Plan and update curricula and lesson plans for mixed-level classes.
• Utilize volunteers as classroom assistants.
• Document attendance and progress for funding and reporting.
• Coordinate with Employment Caseworker to support client goals.
• Deliver classes in-person and online.
