Qualifications

• Experience assisting English Learners and supporting classroom language objectives.

Responsibilities

• Provide teacher-directed support to English Learners individually or in small groups.
• Prepare language supports (visuals, word banks, sentence frames) aligned to lessons.
• Assist with classroom assessments and provide approved linguistic accommodations.
• Maintain a language-rich, organized classroom environment.
• Assist with inventory and maintenance of instructional materials and technology.
• Collect and organize documentation/data on English Learner progress, maintaining confidentiality.
• Orient substitute teachers to routines and supports.
• Model and prompt academic language through guided practice and sentence stems.
• Support vocabulary development through read-alouds and structured writing.
• Assist TELPAS-related preparation activities and campus procedures.
• Communicate with families using district translation procedures as directed.
• Participate in staff development and faculty meetings as assigned.
