Job summary

South Texas College is seeking a Continuing Education ESL Trainer to instruct English language to non-native speaking students. The ESL Trainer will use a variety of teaching methods to improve students' speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills, helping them achieve their language proficiency goals.

The trainer will implement curricula, evaluate and optimize content, motivate students, and maintain records across campuses, traveling as needed within the college district.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field required.
• At least 1 year of teaching/training experience.
• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and meet deadlines.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Willing to travel across the college district.

Responsibilities

• Instructs English language classes for students of various proficiency levels.
• Implements educational curriculum to ensure student success.
• Evaluates and optimizes educational curriculum.
• Motivates students to attend class, learn, and be successful.
• Maintains student and class records.
• Tracks student attendance.
• Assesses students' academic performance.
• Communicates with students, staff and peers professionally.
