Job summary

Young World Physical Education is seeking an ESL Aide to support language minority students in Kansas City, Kansas. This role involves providing individualized tutoring and assistance to students adapting to the mainstream classroom while maintaining communication with parents and teachers.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, along with 48 college hours, or an associate's degree. Experience and bilingual skills are preferred, as well as the ability to establish effective working relationships with students and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in an educational setting or service oriented agency preferred.
• Ability to assist in assessment of students in their native language when necessary.
• Familiarity with Code of Conduct and school rules.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and small group tutoring to target students.
• Assist students in adjusting to the mainstream classroom environment.
• Maintain communication with school personnel and parents.

Skills

Bilingual preferred

Fluency in English (speaking, comprehension, reading, writing)

Education

High school diploma or GED certificate

48 hours at an institution of higher education

Associate's degree or higher
