Job summary

Easterseals Florida is seeking an Exceptional Student Education Teacher Assistant for the 2025-2026 school year to actively support a play-based curriculum. This role involves providing a nurturing learning environment for children who are neurodiverse or have other related disabilities.

Key responsibilities include designing age-appropriate activities, ensuring child safety, and communicating effectively with families. Applicants should have a degree in Early Childhood Education, relevant certifications, and a passion for making a difference in the community.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred).
  • Florida Staff Credential such as CDA or Associates Degree in related field.
  • Successful completion of the 45-hour Child Care Training preferred.

Salary will be $18.00 per hour

Full-time school-year position working 37.5 hours per week

A snapshot of what you'll do:
  • Provide a positive, safe, stimulating, and inclusionary learning environment
  • Design and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities
  • Provide constant supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of each child within the learning center
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents and families
  • Work collaboratively with other educators and staff to promote a positive and cohesive team environment
  • Screen and assess children to determine developmental and educational needs
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field with coursework (preferred, not required)
  • A Florida Staff Credential (one of the following):
  • ----Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC),
  • ----Early Childhood Professional Certificate (ECPC),
  • ----National Early Childhood Credential (CDA/NECC), or
  • ----Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development
  • Successful completion of the Florida Department of Children & Families 45-hour Child Care Training preferred
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
