Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an educational field or the equivalent as defined by FAC 6A-1.0503.
• Hold or eligible to hold a valid Florida Educator Certificate in Exceptional Student Education or equivalent as defined by FAC 6A-4.01795.
• Endorsements in Autism Spectrum Disorder, Gifted, Orientation and Mobility, Pre-K Disabilities, Severe or Profound Disabilities, Reading, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Help students meet state and local achievement requirements and annual learning goals.
• Teach diligently using prescribed materials and technology-based instruction.
• Keep records and submit reports as required by law and school policies.
• Maintain a valid Florida educator’s certificate in ESE.
• Deliver duties for effective instruction and comply with district policies.
• Attend staff meetings and training as needed.
• Develop IEP goals and monitor progress for students with IEPs and BIPs.
• Report Present Levels of Performance as required by district and state/federal rules.
