Job summary

Polk County Public Schools Highland City Elementary is seeking a paraeducator to support an Exceptional Student Education (ESE) self-contained program. The role involves assisting with instructional activities, supervising students, and helping with materials and records under teacher supervision.

Responsibilities include supervising during meals and field trips, reinforcing instruction, and aiding with daily living tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or completion of GED and sixty (60) or more credit hours or an Associate's degree or higher from an accredited school or a passing score on the Para Pro exam.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the ESE student’s instructional and developmental program.
• Supervise students during meals, field trips, activities, and playground duty.
• Prepare and distribute teaching materials and assist with grading and record keeping.
• Assist with daily living skills and support crisis prevention intervention as needed.
• Follow teacher directions to reinforce instruction and provide supervision and support throughout the school day.

Education

High school diploma or GED or higher (Associate's degree or higher preferred)
