Qualifications

• Interest in children and education.

• Assist in educational and social development under guidance.
• Clerical tasks and organizing instructional materials.
• Work closely with students on lessons determined by teacher.
• Ability to assist individuals or small groups and listen to students read.
• Capable of physically assisting students with special needs.
• Maintain integrity and good character.
• Create and maintain a clean, safe office environment.

Responsabilités

• Serve as a role model for students; dress and groom professionally.
• Manage leave of absence using current computer programs.
• Must have working knowledge of computer and e-mail.
• Monitor activities to ensure safety and conduct.
• Assist teachers in supervision and learning support.
• Provide instruction as prescribed by supervising teacher.
• Assist in evaluating students' work; reinforce skills in groups.
• Assist in managing student behavior and classroom order.
• Assist in lesson plan preparation and pre-planning sessions.
• Assist with IEP implementation and progress monitoring.
• Support individual students inside and outside the classroom.
• Collaborate with speech therapists, social workers, and therapists.
• Support students with emotional or behavior concerns; develop social skills.
• Prepare instructional materials; copy, laminate, compose, file.
• Coordinate with media center staff; set up classroom equipment.
• Prepare bulletin boards and displays of student activities.
• Prepare reports, forms, schedules, and attendance records; learn bus routes.
• Maintain accurate records of student information; use computer terminals.
• May perform hall, lunchroom, restrooms, and bus duty monitoring.
• Assist in labs; translate lesson plans for student comprehension.
• Stay current on technology used by PCSD; attend training.
• Maintain responsible, timely information in job responsibilities.
• Perform other incidental tasks as directed.
