Responsibilities

• Provides assistance in a wide variety of Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) disciplines to facilitate implementation of Bechtel's ESH program and ESH Management System to include aiding compliance with Bechtel's ESH standards, applicable regulatory requirements, and contractual commitments.
• Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, systems, and procedures necessary for the safety and health of employees and protection of the environment and communities.
• Maintains ESH databases, inclusive of incident events, audit/assessment findings, and corrective actions.
• Performs statistical analysis of ESH data to help identify performance trends and contributing factors as part of continuous improvement.
• Helps identify and coordinate any unique software systems and electronic innovation used by ESH personnel.
• Leads teams in conducting risk assessment, studies, mitigation planning, and monitoring in response to ESH issues.
• Prepares communications, writes reports, and prepares documents for program execution and records retention.
• Assists with incident notifications, leads investigations, and prepares incident investigation reports.
• Recommends and implements improvements in processes, procedures, and work activities to minimize hazard potential.
• Participates in and supports employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs.
• Supports ESH recognition programs.
• Researches issues and provides regulatory interpretation and technical advice.
• Provides support to ESH field and office personnel, inclusive of all ESH disciplines.

Project Overview

The project is a 1.3 GW simple-cycle power generation facility located in Millersport, Ohio, being constructed adjacent to a hyperscale data center campus. The facility includes multiple power generation technologies consisting of Solar Titan 130 gas turbines, Siemens SGT800 gas turbines, reciprocating engines, battery energy storage systems (BESS), substations, and associated balance of plant infrastructure. The scope includes major civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, underground utility, control systems, and commissioning works required to support phased energization and turnover of the facility. Construction will be executed through a combination of direct hire and subcontracted labor supported by modularization, pre-assembly, offsite warehousing, and advanced work packaging methodologies.

Job Summary

The Environmental Safety & Health (ES&H) Specialist helps implement and ensure compliance with each component of an Environmental Safety and Health program with a specific area/location of the project. This involves administrative and field tasks per established industry practices, procedures, and regulatory and Bechtel requirements. The position requires practical application of occupational safety and related disciplines for managing environmental, safety and health aspects of a project or facility. The position reports to the Field ES&H Lead.

Education And Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
