United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an experienced Project Environmental Safety & Health (ES&H) Lead for a solar power project portfolio across the United States. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Ensures safety requirements are integrated in planning, design, procurement and construction.
  • Prepares regulatory reports and supports ES&H teams across project groups.
  • Coordinates with Safety Manager and other functional leads to address ES&H needs.
  • Participates in development of project Safety and Health Management Plans and training.

Project Overview

the company Infrastructure's Renewables & Clean Power business line is seeking qualified ES&H professionals for forthcoming solar power plant projects planned in multiple locations across the United States. The project teams could be initially based in Reston, VA; following contract award, selected candidates will relocate to designated project sites.

Job Summary

A Project Environmental Safety & Health (ES&H) Lead develops and executes all components of an Environmental, Safety, and Health program on a Solar Project. This involves administrative and field tasks per established industry practices, procedures, regulatory, and the company requirements. The position requires practical application of occupational safety and related disciplines for managing safety and health aspects of a project or facility. The position reports to the Project Manager. #LI-VB1

Major Responsibilities
  • Develops and manages a project-level safety and health program, or a major component of it, for a large-scale or complex project inclusive of technical and administrative aspects and compliance activities.
  • Assures that safety and health requirements are integrated in planning documents, design criteria, construction, commissioning and startup and operational plans, schedules, procurement, and subcontract documents.
  • Prepares technical and regulatory reports, and research issues to support ES&H program execution.
  • Provides technical support within ES&H teams and to other project groups, so that safety and health requirements are integrated within project planning, design, construction planning, procurement, subcontracts, commissioning, and other project functions.
  • Works with other project-level functional leads (e.g., engineering, construction, commissioning and startup, subcontracts, procurement, project controls, document control) to assist them in addressing safety and health requirements in their work products and activities.
  • Coordinates with the global business unit's Safety Manager regarding significant issues and support needs.
  • Prepares or participates in preparation of the project Safety and Health Management Plan, safety and health specific plans, project-specific control plans, and safety and health awareness and training programs in compliance with the company standards, ES&H Management System, and contract and regulatory requirements.
  • Emphasizes and uses risk assessment and the company's ES&H Management System to help achieve continual improvement of the ES&H program.
  • Participates in ES&H emergency preparedness planning and confirms investigation and resolution of safety incidents.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) related to occupational safety or health and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to research and comprehend organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills for preparing presentations, data management, and report preparation.
  • Analytical skills related to sampling, monitoring, and recordkeeping.
  • Adaptable and able to work outdoors in a field environment under various weather conditions.
  • Ability to support multiple work shifts, as needed, and a wide range of tasks.
  • Demonstrated interest, training, and experience in applied sciences.
  • Knowledge and experience with ISO 45001 Management System standards
  • Specialized technical skills and knowledge related to an applicable safety or health discipline.
