Job description

Integration engineers require specialized expertise in power system studies, software and hardware engineering, interface protocols, and problem-solving. They tackle new, complex problems with input from a broad range of engineers, "pulling it all together" to ensure system integration success.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain advanced technical expertise in electric power system protection and automation.
2. Collaborate with design teams, vendors, utilities, regulatory agencies, operators, owners, contractors, and protection engineers to translate owner requirements into technical designs.
3. Develop settings for control layers, including protective relaying and communication processors.
4. Simulate power system conditions in labs to test communications and automation of integrated IEDs and software.
5. Write detailed reports and manage project documentation and billing.
6. Organize and track projects using web-based storage solutions.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

1. Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code, NERC, IEEE, OSHA, and NFPA standards.
2. Skills in generation and co-generation start-up, ANSI, NEC, NEMA specifications, and control systems.
3. Thorough understanding of electrical apparatus testing and power systems theory.
4. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, manufacturer-specific software, and AutoCAD.
6. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and travel as needed.
7. Physical ability to perform job duties, including standing, walking, and lifting.
8. Valid driver’s license.

Education & Certifications

1. BSEE or BSME with five years of relevant experience.
2. Three years as a Power Systems Engineer.
3. Registered Engineer in Training or ability to obtain licensure.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Heavy lifting, frequent standing, and other physical activities.
• Work in extreme temperatures, noisy environments, outdoors, and around machinery.
• Pass pre-employment drug, background, and motor vehicle checks.

Travel

Travel may be required for project needs, including out-of-town and international trips.
