ERP, Material Mover & Fiber Specialist

Basic Function: Enters and processes work orders into the ERP system.

Significant Responsibilities:

  1. Performs specific job responsibilities:
    • Accurately and timely entering and processing of work orders into the ERP system. Examples include, but are not limited to:

Manufactured Work Orders, Stock Work Orders, Remake Work Orders, Engineering Work Orders

  • Coordinate all areas of the company regarding job status and work order distribution; ensure accurate and timely distribution to the appropriate facility locations.
  • Monitor non-conformance areas for un-remitted remakes, ensuring compliance with the Remake Work Order Process.
  • Coordinate with the Senior Planner to meet manufacturing material needs, drying materials, and moving them to extruder lines as needed.
  • Assemble completed jobs from OTDR testing stations, verify paperwork, and deliver to the next operation.
  • Perform cycle counts of inventory to maintain accuracy of the perpetual inventory system.
  • Follow quality policies and operating procedures to ensure work quality and consistency.
  • Participate in intra-departmental cross-training as required.
  1. Performs Fiber Inventory responsibilities:
    • Receive fiber inventory from vendors, scan, apply ID numbers, unpack, and prepare fibers for storage.
    • Store, consolidate, pull fibers for orders, and deliver to buffer lines for manufacturing.
    • Document all inventory movements, link fibers to ERP jobs, and ensure inventory accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED, with 1-3 years of manufacturing experience using ERP preferred, or equivalent education and experience.

Possess good organizational skills to prioritize work flow effectively.

Essential Skills, Abilities & Knowledge:

  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and ERP software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with a courteous attitude.
  • Ability to read and follow complex instructions.
  • Understanding of and ability to implement quality procedures.
  • Math and handwriting skills sufficient for documentation.
  • Ability to work in a team with minimal supervision.
