Southwest Florida Water Management District in Tampa, FL, invites engineers to join the Environmental Resource Permit Bureau. The ERP Engineer reviews ERP applications, evaluates exemptions, and ensures permit compliance within deadlines while engaging with the public and other agencies.

The role supports on-site and remote work, requires Florida residency, and participates in a broad suite of regulatory and field responsibilities that help protect water resources for west-central Florida.

Qualifications

• Evaluate ERP applications and exemptions from ERP requirements.
• Review permit documents and ensure compliance with District rules.
• Generate written correspondence within mandated deadlines.
• Answer questions and perform activities related to permitting and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate ERP applications and exemptions from ERP requirements.
• Review engineering drawings, reports, and permit documents for compliance.
• Participate in meetings with the public and permit applicants to discuss permitting.
• Provide engineering and regulatory input to other disciplines and projects.
• Proficient use of WMIS/E-Permitting and GIS/ArcMap for permitting decisions.
• Monitor constructions and inspect storm water systems; conduct field verifications.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and represent ERP Evaluation Manager as needed.
