Zusammenfassung

The City of Winston-Salem is seeking a skilled Erosion Control Inspector to enforce ordinances related to erosion control, floodplain development, and watershed protection. You will review plans, inspect sites, and manage enforcement actions under the supervision of the Erosion Control/Floodplain Program Manager.

Responsibilities include assisting developers with ordinance requirements, maintaining a GIS database, generating monthly metrics, and performing related duties.

Qualifikationen

• Associate's degree in civil engineering, landscape architecture, environmental science or related field and 4 years of enforcement/inspection experience.
• Thorough knowledge of Erosion and Sedimentation Control terminology and local ordinances regulating Erosion Control, Floodplain Development, and Water Supply Watershed Protection.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ArcGIS and electronic plan review software; ability to engage with property owners, contractors, City officials and the public.

Aufgaben

• Enforce City/County erosion control, floodplain development, and watershed protection ordinances through plan review, site inspection and related work.
• Provide pre-planning feedback to developers and design professionals on ordinance requirements.
• Review plans in the electronic plan review system for compliance with ordinances.
• Conduct on-site inspections of residential/commercial projects to ensure conformance with plans and regulations.
• Document enforcement actions including Notices of Violation and penalties; testify as needed in hearings and court.
• Maintain GIS database of all assigned projects and generate monthly activity metrics.
• Perform other related work as assigned.
