Job summary

Emerald Site Services, Inc. is looking for an Erosion Control Technician in Sacramento, California. You will be responsible for installing and maintaining Best Management Practices to prevent soil erosion and sediment runoff on construction sites.

The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of experience in construction or environmental management, along with a High School Diploma or GED. The role includes outdoor work in varying weather conditions, with pay ranging from $18 to $20 per hour.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in construction, stormwater management, or environmental inspection.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, traverse uneven terrain, and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Correctly install erosion control measures including silt fences and erosion control blankets.
• Perform routine inspections and repairs of existing BMPs.
• Support site stabilization through hydroseeding and sod installation.
• Safely operate light machinery and power tools.
• Assist in maintaining site logs and photo documentation.
• Maintain a clean and safe job site, adhering to OSHA standards.

Skills

Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings

Proficiency with tablets and GPS

Basic office software skills (Word, Excel)

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Associate degree in Environmental Science
