Howmet Aerospace has an opening for a Ergo Tech 1st shift Position in our Operations Department at our Tucson AZ location. The Production Lead is responsible for the production of parts meeting print and specification requirements as well as responsible for the care and maintenance of the equipment. The Lead will train other operators as required, facilitate continuous improvement activities, be responsible for the team and have supervisor signature authority when the supervisor is absent.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
Actively lead production team in product and process improvement
Prepare daily production reports
Production of parts meeting drawing and specification requirements.
Set-up and operate equipment, as assigned.
Perform statistical process control measurements and calculations. Complete forms or computer entries as required.
Order and maintain inventory levels of required tooling, gages and supplies.
Participate in assuring team tooling and material readiness. (Assemble tooling set-up kits, stage raw materials and perform external setup tasks, as required)
Participate in setting and achieving team and individual productivity and quality targets
Lead Kaizens for improvement
Help facilitate continuous improvement activities.
Perform machine inspections including daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance tasks.
Perform shop floor housekeeping duties.
Train technicians (operators) in the operation of plant equipment, fastener manufacturing and testing methods.
Help ensure that quality and standards for the department are adhered to and maintained.
Assume other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as required.
Run daily stand up meetings
Participate in daily operation meetings as needed
Perform ASATS as assigned
Complete PRR's and CAR's
Perform necessary quality checks and SPC data collection for products produced.
Help facilitate compliance with company safety, housekeeping, and other company policies
Participates in the hiring decisions regarding operators
Perform other tasks as needed in support of manufacturing operations, customers and suppliers.
Adhere to Howmet EH&S, Quality, Continuous Improvements and other Company Policies.
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution preferred
Minimum of eight years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
Must be familiar with a variety of manufacturing processes.
Must meet Production Tech III experience and background requirements.
Must have specific knowledge of product function, testing and design. Strong leadership and communication skills. Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Entry level position. Attention to detail and strong communication skills are required. Previous experience within a manufacturing environment is desired or have a background working with machinery. Prefer previous hands-on experience using measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers and reading blueprints.
This position will physically require the incumbent to perform duties standing, walking, overhead reaching, lifting (35 - 40lbs), pushing and pulling totes, and leaning over machines, all equally on a regular basis.
