ABOUT THE JOB:

Independently performs the functions of a registered nurse in direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process to deliver developmentally appropriate care. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to patient and family needs.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prescribes, delegates, and coordinates patient care, applying clinical judgment and evidence-based guidelines to assess situations and develop appropriate care plans aimed at promoting comfort.
  2. Ensures patient care meets safety, effectiveness, patient rights, and guest relations standards.
  3. Oversees care provided by the patient care team and coordinates the plan of care.
  4. Provides education and facilitates learning for patients, families, and team members, respecting diversity.
  5. Collaborates with physicians, families, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective care plans.
  6. Advocates for patients, addresses concerns, and resolves ethical and clinical issues.
  7. Documents all patient encounters accurately and thoroughly in EPIC, ensuring PHI security.
  8. Adheres to infection prevention protocols.
  9. Delivers competent, skilled care tailored to patient needs with a team-oriented approach.
  10. Continuously monitors patient condition, evaluates, and adjusts treatment plans collaboratively.
  11. Maintains knowledge and tools to manage environmental and systemic resources effectively.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years RN Pediatric Emergency Department experience required.
  • Preferred 3+ years RN Pediatric Emergency Department experience.

Education:

  • BSN

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Current Texas RN license
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • PALS certification within 60 days of hire
