Job summary

Three Rivers School District is seeking an ERC Assistant at Fruitdale Elementary School to support students in special education settings. This part-time role starts immediately, 4 days per week, 7 hours daily, 155 days per year, with competitive wages and benefits.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and two years of college or an Associate's degree, be fingerprinted, and able to work one-on-one or in small groups with dignity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of college coursework or Associate's Degree (may be waived pending successful performance on skills test).
• Applicant must be fingerprinted for district records.

Responsibilities

• Support ERC team of assistants in daily activities.
• Assist with special needs students and one-on-one or small group instruction.
• Maintain dignity and positive behavior management in classroom settings.
• Take initiative and be self-directed in duties.
• Capable of standing, walking or sitting on the floor while supervising students.

Compensation: $17.96 - $22.75 - New hires will be placed at Step 1 through 9 dependenton prior contracted educational experience. Employees in qualifying positions will receive a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision and will receive contributions to their PERS retirement accounts. Qualifications:

• Ability to work with ERC team of assistants
• Ability to work well with special needs students
• Understanding of age-appropriate behavioral issues
• Knowledge and experience with basic computer operations desired
• Ability to work one-on-one or in small groups
• Ability to discipline with dignity
• Ability to take initiative and be self-directed
• Ability to stand, walk or sit on floor while working with students in the classroom or while supervising
• Ability to physically lift, move or restrain a student on a regular basis
• Must qualify or be able to meet standard for highly qualified para-professional
