Job summary

Ventra Health is seeking an ERA Exceptions Posting Specialist to research claim payments described in Electronic Remittance Advice. You will post insurance allowances, patient portions, denials and adjustments, and ensure timely closing of payment batches in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 2 years of healthcare billing experience, strong knowledge of EOBs and payer types, and excellent numerical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience posting insurance payments in a healthcare setting.
• Experience reading insurance EOB statements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process electronic 835’s and payer EOBs, including posting of insurance allowances, patient portions, denials, adjustments, contractual allowances, recoups and forward balancing.
• Interpret EOB remittance codes and apply correct denial codes.
• Balance and close payment batches timely.
• Navigate websites to obtain EOBs.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

• The ERA Exceptions Posting Specialist is responsible for researching claim payments as explained in an Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA). These exceptions will be researched and refiled by an appropriate deadline. ERA Exceptions Posting Specialist must comply with applicable laws regarding billing standards and be able to operate in a team-oriented environment that strives to provide superior service to Ventra Health clients throughout the country.

Essential Functions and Tasks

• Processes electronic 835’s and manual payer EOBs, including the posting of insurance allowable, patient portions, denials, adjustments, contractual allowances, recoups and forward balancing.
• Interprets Explanation of Benefits (EOB) remittance codes and applies correct denial codes.
• Balances and closes payment batches timely.
• Navigate websites to obtain EOBs.
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Two (2) year of experience posting insurance payments in a healthcare setting.
• Two (2) years of experience reading insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements preferred.
