Mount Dora Veterinary Hospital in Mount Dora, FL is seeking an experienced ER Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency Room team. You will triage, diagnose, and provide nursing care in a fast-paced setting, supporting doctors and clients with clear communication.

Qualifications

• 2+ years veterinary technician or assistant experience required.
• CVT or licensed vet tech credentials preferred.
• Previous ER veterinary experience required.
• Comfort with anesthesia, diagnostics, restraint, venipuncture, and nursing care.
• Must be available for weekends, evenings, and overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

• Triage urgent/emergency patients with calm, skilled care.
• Collect and analyze lab samples, run in-house diagnostics, and support imaging workflows.
• Assist with digital radiology, ultrasound, and advanced diagnostics.
• Provide nursing care for hospitalized patients with varying stability.
• Prepare for surgery, assist doctors, and monitor anesthesia.
• Administer medications and communicate treatment plans to clients.
• Collaborate with doctors and vet techs to maintain patient flow.
• Help shape best practices as the ER model expands.
