Job summary

MedVet is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our clinical team. You will support emergency care, perform anesthesia induction and monitoring, run in-house labs, and assist veterinarians with treatments

You should be a team player with strong communication, capable of prioritizing patient care in a fast-paced setting, and able to provide thorough client education and compassionate care to hospitalized patients.

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technician preferred.
• Experience in emergency settings desirable.
• Proficient in drug calculations and IV fluid calculations.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases, and gather information.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team on treatment plans and nursing care.
• Provide client education on home care, meds, and wellness of hospitalized patients.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment, and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house lab testing and prepare samples for outside labs.
