Job summary

VCA Katonah Bedford is seeking a compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our 24/7 emergency and specialty team in Bedford Hills, NY. This hands-on role covers patient care, anesthesia, surgery assistance, and the full spectrum of critical care.

Qualifications

• Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT) or technician in training.
• Hands-on role including patient care, anesthesia, surgery assistance and critical care support.

Responsibilities

• Triage incoming emergencies and prioritize care with the veterinary team.
• Monitor ICU patients, track vitals, and recognize early signs of change.
• Place IV catheters, draw blood, manage fluids and CRIs.
• Assist with stabilization and treatment plans as cases progress.
• Administer medications accurately per orders, including controlled substances.
• Support diagnostics such as radiographs and blood work.
• Provide ICU/recumbent patient care and nutritional support.
• Coordinate with veterinarians, specialists and technicians on evolving cases.
• Care for local wildlife in partnership with rescuers.
