Job summary

VCA Old Marple Animal Hospital in Springfield, PA is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our 24-hour ER/general practice as an ER Exam Room Tech. You will help create a low-stress environment, obtain histories, restrain patients, perform basic clinical tasks, and maintain medical records while communicating with clients.

Qualifications

• Obtain a history on a sick/well patient
• Restrain a cat/dog
• Talk to clients and make phone calls
• Blood draws and injections (training)
• Medical recordkeeping and client education

Responsibilities

• Assist with history taking and patient care in a high-stress ER environment
• Restrict and handle patients safely during exams and procedures
• Maintain accurate medical records and communicate with clients
• Perform lab sample collection and processing, and assist with medication preparation
