Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–6 months experience in a related role is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Orders are transcribed within 15 minutes.
• Notify appropriate nurse and assistant of NOW and STAT orders.
• Enter patient charges from the medical record into the computer with minimal errors (≤5 per day).
• Answer telephone within three rings with professional courtesy and department identification.
• Deliver messages within 15 minutes of the call.
• Educate ED staff on changes to computer programs.
