Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, MI seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care within the ED. Responsibilities include patient assessment, collaboration with families and healthcare teams, and adherence to ANA and hospital standards.

The role requires an active RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS, with at least 2 years in an Emergency Department. BSN preferred; a strong commitment to quality care is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have an Associates of Applied Science in Nursing (AAS) or RN Diploma at start date.
• BSN is preferred.
• 2 years current Emergency Department experience required.

Responsabilités

• In collaboration with the patient and/or family, and healthcare team, participates in open discussion to identify mutual goals based on the nursing assessment and nursing diagnosis.
• Diagnoses, treats and evaluates the human response to actual or potential health problems/needs.
• Evaluates the outcomes of the nursing plan of care and revises it as necessary.
• Assesses, detects, monitors and attempts to prevent complications associated with health situations or treatment plans.
• Notifies the physician of patient condition and response to nursing intervention appropriately and documents this action.
• Insures that patient's pain is assessed, treated, reassessed, documented and evaluated.
• Responsible for maintaining and upgrading knowledge, skills, nursing practice and competencies affecting the quality of nursing care, and re-licensure.
• Delegation to other licensed and unlicensed care providers based on clinical nursing judgment and skill of the care provider.
