Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking an Emergency Care technician to support frontline patient care in the emergency department. Under the supervision of the RN or Physician, you will assist with EKGs, phlebotomy, splinting and data collection, while helping to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.

Responsibilities include admitting patients to cubicles, assisting with turning, coughing and deep breathing, and performing non-sterile treatments as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with ER Tech training or EMT training or student nurse with one semester of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Care for Emergency patients under supervision of RN or Physician.
• Assist with direct patient care, EKG, phlebotomy, splinting and data collection.
• Stock supplies, transport patients, maintain safe and clean work area.
• Assist in orienting new Clinical Technicians.
• Perform non-sterile treatments and specimen collection as required.
