Job summary

NCH Healthcare System Inc. is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to provide direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at our Naples location.

The role requires practical skills to work with a multidisciplinary team and ensure efficient patient flow in a high-acuity setting. Qualifications include a minimum of a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and valid Florida EMT/Paramedic/CNA licensure with acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School or GED required.
• BLS certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Valid Licensure as a Florida EMT, Paramedic, Clinical Tech (CNA) in the State of Florida with acute care experience required.
• Basic computer knowledge: ability to operate a PC, create/save/print documents, and input data.

Responsibilities

• Provide defined aspects of care to Emergency Department patients under RN/physician/provider orders.
• Manage a patient care assignment based on patient acuity and staffing needs.
• Receives reports and completes tasks in a timely manner.
• Respond to patient requests and communicate with the nurse/physician/provider as appropriate.
• Enter documentation into the electronic medical record.
• Assist with emergent resuscitations and Code Blues when necessary.
• Assist with emergent procedures and venipuncture per policy.
• Assist with admissions/discharges/transfers and transport patients as needed.
