Job summary

Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, MO is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) to support the clinical team in a fast-paced ED. The role involves direct patient care, vitals, basic procedures, and documentation in the EHR, with shifts that vary and non-exempt status.

Responsibilities include assisting with triage, wound care, phlebotomy, IV placement, EKGs, and collaboration with nurses and physicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• EMT or CNA program completion preferred.
• Healthcare experience, preferably in an emergency department, is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in triage by taking vitals, collecting patient history, and preparing patients for exam.
• Perform basic patient care tasks including wound care, splinting, phlebotomy, and EKGs under supervision.
• Assist with IV lines, catheters, and other medical devices; monitor patient conditions and report changes.
• Set up, operate, and maintain ED medical equipment; assist in emergency procedures and resuscitations.
• Maintain clean, organized patient care areas and safely transport patients within the department.
• Document all patient care activities in the EHR and communicate with the healthcare team.
• Support nursing and medical staff during examinations, and assist with CPR and life-saving measures as needed.
