Job summary

MultiCare Health System's Off-Campus Emergency Departments in Washington are seeking an Emergency Services Technician to support patient care and assist with clinical procedures. You will collaborate with a team of practitioners to ensure safe, high-quality care and positive patient experiences.

This role requires CNA/NA-R/EMT credentials or EMT training, current BLS, and the ability to work 12-HR shifts across varying schedules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Current Washington state CNA/NA-R, MA-P, MA-C or EMT training.
• MA-P or EMT must obtain NA-R within 180 days of hire.
• CNA/NA-R/EMT must obtain MA-P by a specified date (Yakima location exception).
• Current BLS Certification.
• Previous experience as CNA/NA-R/corpsman/EMT in ED/pre-hospital/acute care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as directed by the health care practitioner.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic and aesthetic environment with critical thinking.
• Deliver nursing care using the nursing process per hospital policies.
• Collaborate with the team to improve quality of care, patient experience and cost efficiency.
• Foster a learning environment for patients, families and staff.
• Advocate for ethical and holistic care respecting diverse backgrounds.

Position Summary

The Emergency Services Technician offers an excellent opportunity in supporting patient care and covering administrative and clinical procedures. Working in collaboration across a team of practitioners, you will ensure the best possible health care outcomes and patient experiences.

Responsibilities

• You will assist in providing direct patient care as directed by health care practitioner
• You will engage your critical thinking skills in maintaining a safe, therapeutic and aesthetic environment.
• You will utilize the knowledge base of nursing education and experience to deliver nursing care using the nursing process according to hospital policies, procedures, and protocols
• Collaborate with the team to facilitate overall improvement in quality of care, patient experience, and cost reduction
• Foster a learning environment for patients/families, nursing staff, and other members of the health care team
• Advocate for ethical and holistic care promoting the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current Washington state certification/licensure as a CNA or NA-R, MA-P, MA-C or successful completion of EMT Training Course
• MA-P or EMT will be required to obtain NA-R within 180 days of hire
• CNA, NA-R, or EMT will be required to obtain MA-P within a specified date as determined by location; Yakima location does not require the MA-P
• Current BLS Certification
• Previous experience as a CNA, NA-R, corpsman, or EMT, in an emergency department, pre-hospital, or acute care setting within the last three (3) years preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $24.78 - $37.71 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
