Job summary

Premier Health's Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, OH seeks an Emergency Room Technician/Health Unit Coordinator to support nursing staff, assist with patient care, and manage unit clerical tasks. The EDT/HUC works under RN/LPN supervision and helps deliver safe patient care.

You’ll need a high school diploma or GED and must obtain a BLS CPR certificate. No prior experience required, with options for EMT/STNA/CNA or current nursing students to qualify.

Job description

Position: Emergency Room Technician/Health Unit Coordinator

Department: Emergency Department

Shift: 7:00PM-7:30AM Full Time Nights 36 hours a week, 72 hours per pay period

Facility: Atrium Medical Center

As an EDT, the EDT/HUC works under the direction of RN/LPN as part of the health care team to assist with patient care activities. The tasks delegated are those that are in accordance with the Ohio Board of Nursing set by Atrium Medical Center

As a HUC, the EDT/HUC coordinates the day to day clerical activities of the nursing unit. The HUC directly/indirectly impacts the patient outcomes and care provided to patients/families/significant others.

Education: You'll need a high school diploma or GED.

Training: you'll need to get a BLS CPR certificate. If you don't already have it, they can teach you how to do CPR at your orientation too (so you don't need to do it beforehand).

Experience: No previous job experience is required, but you should have one of the following:

• Finished EMT, STNA, CNA, or Patient Care Technician/Assistant training.
• Helped care for patients in the past 5 years (like taking their temperature, bathing them, or helping them use the restroom)
• Currently in nursing school and finished one clinical rotation.

Other Skills:

• You can handle doing many things simultaneously, even when people interrupt you, and still be nice.
• You know how to use a computer.
• You’re good at organizing things.
• You can talk and listen well to others.
• Bonus points: You've worked in a hospital before
