Job summary

Atrium Medical Center is seeking an Emergency Room Technician/Health Unit Coordinator to join the Emergency Department overnight team. You will support patient care under RN/LPN supervision and coordinate daily clerical tasks on the unit, contributing to safe, timely care.

Minimum education is a high school diploma or GED, with preferred BLS CPR certification; orientation may provide CPR training. Prior healthcare experience is not required, but EMT/STNA/CNA training or nursing-school rotations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS CPR certificate required; orientation may include CPR training.
• No prior experience required, but EMT/STNA/CNA or Patient Care Technician training is preferred.
• Nursing school with clinical rotation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• EDT/HUC works under RN/LPN to assist with patient care activities.
• EDT/HUC coordinates day-to-day clerical activities on the nursing unit; contributes to patient outcomes.
• Performs tasks delegated per Ohio Board of Nursing guidelines as directed by Atrium Medical Center.

Position: Emergency Room Technician/Health Unit CoordinatorDepartment: Emergency DepartmentShift: 7:00PM-7:30AM Full Time Nights 36 hours a week, 72 hours per pay periodFacility: Atrium Medical CenterAs an EDT, the EDT/HUC works under the direction of RN/LPN as part of the health care team to assist with patient care activities. The tasks delegated are those that are in accordance with the Ohio Board of Nursing set by Atrium Medical CenterAs a HUC, the EDT/HUC coordinates the day to day clerical activities of the nursing unit. The HUC directly/indirectly impacts the patient outcomes and care provided to patients/families/significant others.Education: You'll need a high school diploma or GED.Training: you'll need to get a BLS CPR certificate. If you don’t already have it, they can teach you how to do CPR at your orientation too (so you don't need to do it beforehand).Experience: No previous job experience is required, but you should have one of the following:Finished EMT, STNA, CNA, or Patient Care Technician/Assistant training.Helped care for patients in the past 5 years (like taking their temperature, bathing them, or helping them use the restroom)Currently in nursing school and finished one clinical rotation.Other Skills:You can handle doing many things simultaneously, even when people interrupt you, and still be nice.You know how to use a computer.You're good at organizing things.You can talk and listen well to others.Bonus points: You've worked in a hospital before
