Job summary

Barstow Community Hospital in Barstow, CA is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support nursing staff. Under supervision, you will perform clerical and related duties at the department level, assist with patient transport, and help with EKGs and urine specimen collection.

Description

Under the direction of the department supervisor, the emergency department technician is responsible for assisting the nursing personnel by performing clerical and related duties at the department level. These related duties include performing EKGs, insertion of straight catheter for the purposes of obtaining urine specimens, providing assistance to professional nursing staff, assisting in the transportation of patients, and other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent; Medical Terminology; Computer Skills - all required.

EXPERIENCE: Prior experience in physicians' office, acute care, urgent care, or emergency department - preferred.

LICENSE/CERTS: BLS required.

WAGE RANGE: 23.00 - 27.00/HR
