Job summary

Quorum Health Corporation in Deming, NM seeks an ER support technician assisting physicians and RNs by performing phlebotomy, 12‑lead EKGs, wound care, and monitoring patients. All activities occur under MD or RN direction.

Responsibilities include transporting patients, operating cardiac and vital sign monitors, performing Point of Care Testing, collecting lab specimens, suturing simple lacerations, and maintaining a clean workspace.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• EMT-Basic/EMT-Intermediate Certification (NM) or CNA license as applicable.
• BLS Certification or obtain per policy upon hire.

Job description

• Provides Emergency Room technical support for physicians and nurses to optimize patient care.
• All activities are under the direction of the MD or RN. Assists the RNs and MDs in providing technical care of the patients by performing phlebotomy, and performing 12 lead EKGstransporting patients to other departments, placing patient on cardiac and vital sign monitors, performs Point of Care Testing, performing wound care, obtaining lab specimens and documenting all care/procedures provided.
• Assists the Emergency Physician with technical support such as suturing simple lacerations.
• Cleans equipment and workspace.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Current NM C.N.A., EMT-Basic or EMT-Intermediate Certification
• Certification; BLS Certification or obtain per policy upon hire; maintain such certifications.
