Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking an Emergency Room Technician (ER Tech) to join the Emergency Department team. Under RN supervision, you will provide hands-on patient care, assist with mobility, vital signs, and daily needs, and help maintain a safe, clean patient environment in a fast-paced setting.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year of patient care experience, and current SC CNA or EMT certification plus AHA BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of patient care experience in a healthcare facility or CNA experience preferred.
• Current SC CNA registration or SC EMT certification required; AHA BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients within your scope of training and certification.
• Assist patients with hygiene, dressing, mobility, and activities of daily living.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable patient environment.
• Assist with patient transportation to tests and procedures and bed linen changes.
• Supply and serve meal trays and provide between-meal nourishment.
• Record temperatures and vital signs under the direction of a nurse.
• Support nurses and the emergency care team with patient care activities.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, nurses, and providers.
