Baptist Health in Elizabethtown, KY is seeking an ER Tech for the Emergency Department on a part‑time basis (7pm–7am). The role involves performing delegated patient care tasks under nurse supervision, including time-sensitive EKG testing and specimen collection, with training provided.

Required are a high school diploma or GED and BLS certification within 90 days. Preferred are nursing assistant and phlebotomy training or experience, with benefits including tuition assistance and PTO.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
• Mandatory nonviolent crisis prevention training to be completed prior to end of orientation period and maintained annually.
• Recent nursing assistant training with six months or more experience.
• Prior Phlebotomy training or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• ER Tech performs designated tasks in patient care under nurse supervision.
• Must perform time sensitive EKG testing and inform primary caregiver of results promptly.
• Collects specimens according to policy.
• Training to include collection of blood, throat, nasal, stool and clean catch urine specimens.
• Performs routine vital signs and documents in the patient medical record.
• Responsible for performing blood glucose testing as ordered.
