Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking an unlicensed Emergency Department Technician to support non-critical patients during night shifts. You will assist with activities of daily living and provide basic care under RN supervision, while helping maintain a safe environment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, EMT certification or CNA as required by state, and current BLS. At least six months in an acute care setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current EMT Certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), if required by the State.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Department: Emergency Unit
Schedule: Full-Time, Night 12-Hour Shift/Rotating Weekends
Hospital: St. Mary of Nazareth
Location: Chicago, IL 60622

Responsibilities

The Technician in the Emergency Department is an unlicensed non-certified assistive person who assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-critical patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current EMT Certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), if required by the State
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
