Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to assist with daily living activities, provide basic nursing care to non-critical patients, and help maintain a safe environment under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.

The role requires a High School diploma, EMT Certification or CNA as required by state, BLS within 30 days, knowledge of medical terminology, and preferred six months in acute care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current EMT Certification or CNA, if required by the State.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living.
• Provide basic nursing care to non-critical patients.
• Maintain a safe environment under RN supervision.

Schedule: Full-Time, Day 12-Hour Shift/ Rotating Weekends

Hospital: St. Mary of Nazareth

Location: Chicago, IL 60622

Responsibilities

The Technician in the Emergency Department is an unlicensed non-certified assistive person who assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-critical patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.

2. Current EMT Certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), if required by the State

3. Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.

4. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.

5. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
