Job summary

Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital–Emergency Department in Downers Grove, IL is seeking an ED Support Tech to provide direct patient care under supervision. The role requires collaboration with nurses and physicians, adherence to infection control guidelines, and active participation in ED quality initiatives.

The position requires 2-3 years of hospital patient care experience or CNA certification, BLS, and ability to lift up to 35 pounds.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years hospital patient care experience or CNA or nursing rotations completed.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• Ability to move/lift patients and push carts; physical stamina and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care as directed by nursing or medical staff.
• Assist with IVs, saline locks, and IV fluid administration per competency.
• Support nursing and physicians in invasive procedures (airway, central line, etc.).
• Assist with monitoring, phlebotomy, EKGs, and patient mobility.
• Document all interventions in the EMR and report concerns promptly.
