Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking staff to support patient care on the unit, including diagnostics, transport, and clerical duties. The role assists in implementing the care plan and maintaining a safe environment.

The ideal candidate has a GED and completion of an EMT/MA/CNA/LPN program or one year of nursing school, along with BLS/CPR certification and WA licenses where applicable.

Qualifications

• GED completed as a base requirement.
• Completion of one of EMT/MA/CNA/LPN programs or one year of nursing school.
• WA certifications listed in the posting (CNA, LPN, Phlebotomist, etc.).
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct selected diagnostics and procedures and assist with patient transport.
• Provide general clerical and cleaning support to the unit.
• Execute delegated tasks to support unit operations.
• Assist in implementing plan of care within scope of practice.
• Observe, collect data, and identify patient care needs.
• Respond to emergency situations and assist with transfers.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

• Every day you will conduct selected diagnostics and procedures, assist with patient transport and lifting, and provide general clerical and cleaning support to the unit.
• To be successful in this role you will effectively execute delegated tasks, support unit operations, and contribute to a safe and efficient environment.
• Assists in implementing plan of care by performing common clinical procedures and tasks within scope of practice.
• Assists in making observations, gathering data and identifying patient care needs.
• Responds appropriately to emergency situations.
• Assists with patient transport and transfer.
• Assists with cleaning, stocking and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
• Adheres to safety and risk management standards.

Job Requirements Required

• High School GED General Studies and
• Completion of one of the following that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities:
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program or
• Medical Assistant program or
• Certified Nursing Assistant Program or
• Licensed Practical Nurse program or
• completion of one year of nursing school
