Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking an Emergency Room Technician to support safe, cost-efficient patient care in the Emergency Department. You will perform delegated tasks from the RN or Physician, assist with selected diagnostics and procedures, patient transport, and unit clerical duties in a fast-paced setting.

You will respond to emergencies, maintain safety, and help with cleaning, stocking, and equipment upkeep to ensure an efficient environment across the ER team.

Qualifications

• High school graduate required.
• Completion of EMT, MA, CNA, or LPN program or equivalently one year of nursing school.

Responsibilities

• Assist with delegated tasks from RN or physician.
• Support diagnostics and procedures within scope of practice.
• Assist with patient transport and lifting.
• Provide clerical and cleaning support to the unit.
• Respond to emergency situations and help maintain safety.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an Emergency Room Tech, you will support safe, cost-efficient patient care in the Emergency Department, performing delegated functions from the RN or Physician.

Every day you will conduct selected diagnostics and procedures, assist with patient transport and lifting, and provide general clerical and cleaning support to the unit.

To be successful in this role you will effectively execute delegated tasks, support unit operations, and contribute to a safe and efficient environment.

• Assists in implementing plan of care by performing common clinical procedures and tasks within scope of practice.
• Assists in making observations, gathering data and identifying patient care needs.
• Responds appropriately to emergency situations.
• Assists with patient transport and transfer.
• Assists with cleaning, stocking and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
• Adheres to safety and risk management standards.

Job Requirements

• High School Graduate General Studies and
• Completion of one of the following that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities:
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program or
• Medical Assistant program or
• Certified Nursing Assistant Program or
• Licensed Practical Nurse program or
• Completion of one year of nursing school

AND

• Certified Nursing Assistant: WA or
• Licensed Practical Nurse: WA or
• Medical Assistant Certification: WA or
• Registered Nursing Assistant: WA and
• Basic Life Support - CPR
• Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist: WA, within 6 - months
