Job summary

Trinity Health in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a dedicated Night Shift Paramedic/EMT to perform quality ECG studies, monitor patients, and support ED clinicians.

Responsibilities include accurate data entry, order verification, IV starts, and timely escalation for high-priority rhythms. ACLS/BLS/PALS preferred; HS diploma or GED required. Willingness to cross-train as Unit Secretary.

Qualifications

• Experience as Paramedic/EMT and IV starts.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proper ECG technique with correct lead placement.
• Verifies patient orders are entered into the computer.
• Acquires ECG data ensuring demographics are entered and correct.
• Transmits ECG from the cart to the data management system.
• Identifies high-priority rhythms and notifies ED MD for interpretation.
• Monitors the waiting area and responds to monitor alarms as needed.

Employment Type: Full time Shift: 12 Hour Night Shift Description:

Night Shift 7p-7a

• Demonstrates proper technique and lead placement for performing a quality ECG study.
• Verifies order is placed into computer.
• Acquires ECG assuring all patient demographics are entered and correct.
• Edits ECG s (ie correct patient s name, MR#, room #).
• Transmits from the ECG cart to the data management system.
• Identifies high priority rhythms and complexes and delivers ECG to ED MD for interpretation
• Demonstrates the ability to obtain information and interpret information in terms of the patient s needs.
• Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of growth and development.
• Demonstrates the ability to identify high priority patients to the triage nurse, based on pre determined criteria.
• Monitors the waiting room and identifies patient in need for re-assessment by the triage nurse, based on pre determined criteria.
• Recognizes and responds to monitor alarms and/or changes in patient cardiac rhythm, and assures that RN or charge nurse is notified and aware.

Minimum Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED is required

• Certificate from Paramedic and/or EMT School is preferred.
• Willingness to cross train as Unit Secretary
• Previous experience working as a Paramedic and/or EMT is required. Experience with starting IVs is necessary
• Computer experience

Licences/Certifications

• Paramedic and/or ER Tech License preferred.
• ACLS, BLS, PALS require
