Qualifications

• EMT Basic or higher / CNA at the time of hire.
• Two or more years of emergency department experience may substitute for EMT-B certification.
• Previous EMT and IV experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Transport patients, obtain vital signs, and perform IV starts.
• Assist in setting up medical equipment and c-spine immobilization.

We Are Hiring: ER Team Technician - ProHealth Care Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital - 0.6 FTE - Nights

Schedule Details: This 0.6 FTE position involves two 12-hour shifts per week (1800-0600), every third weekend and holiday. This is a permanent, not seasonal or temporary, position.

About Us:

The Oconomowoc Emergency Department is a full-service 16-bed unit that sees nearly 10,000 patients annually, from birth to end of life, including ENT, eye, GYN, orthopedics, cardiac, stroke, and pediatrics. Our staff and physicians are dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care to our community.

What You Will Do:

You will provide care to adults, older adults, children, and neonates with emergent medical conditions under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Other responsibilities of our ER Team Technicians include:

• Transporting patients throughout the hospital
• Obtaining vital signs and pulse oximetry readings
• Performing IV starts for fluid therapy
• Collecting and transporting specimens
• Assisting in setting up equipment such as arterial lines, chest tubes, nasogastric suction, airway management, capnography, external pacemakers, and seizure pads
• Assisting with C-spine immobilization

What You Will Need:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• EMT Basic or higher / CNA at the time of hire
• May have 2 or more years of ED or similar experience in place of EMTb certification
• Previous experience as an EMT or CNA
• Candidates meeting Nurse Intern II requirements will also be considered
• Previous EMT and IV experience is preferred
