Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a registered nurse to join the Emergency Department at the Marlborough campus. You will plan, deliver and manage direct patient care using the nursing process from admission to discharge, including discharge planning and collaboration with the care team.

The role requires MA nursing licensure and BLS; ACLS preferred. It operates on a night schedule (6:45 PM to 7:15 AM) with 12-hour shifts, 24 hours per week, and a union affiliation with

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS is a requirement for every RN, ACLS certification preferred.
• BSN degree highly preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for delivery and management of patient's care from Admission to Discharge.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluate nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
• Documents patient care according to standard procedure.
• Develops, implements/coordinates and documents Education Plan for patient/family/significant other.
• Ensures quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other health care providers.
• Administers medications, performs treatments, therapies and operates equipment according to policy and procedure.
• Participates in and supports Nursing Governance activities.
• Assumes responsibility for professional growth.
• Assists in education and development of staff.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives and demonstrate the use of quality improvement in daily operations.
