Job summary

Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) seeks an experienced registered nurse to provide professional nursing care within an assigned unit and coordinate care planning with other disciplines.

This position involves handling emergencies, mentoring staff, and ensuring high-quality patient care. The role requires an SC or compact RN license and CPR within 6 months of hire, with a 36-hour weekly schedule and hourly compensation.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of South Carolina or a compact state.
• CPR certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Some clinical or hospital experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Documents initial nursing histories and assesses patients’ conditions per policy requirements and develops individual care plans.
• Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other direct patient care activities.
• Evaluates outcomes of patient care and revises nursing care processes to obtain optimal patient outcomes.
• Coordinates discharge planning and communicates patients’ condition during hand-offs.
• Maintains confidentiality and mentors new staff; provides first line customer service.
• Follows the RMC Standards of Behaviors and performs additional duties as assigned.
